I finally watched the damn thing, okay?! ;-P I got completely caught up right before the 3-week break.
Today, I was reminded that new episodes start again tonight... and I'm really not that excited.
Now before you get your panties all in a bunch, let me explain a few things...
1) I don't like most TV. It bores me. It's the same shit from plot-lines to characters every time.
2) I *hate* schedules. I hate *having* to do anything, no less be on my couch at a specific time because something as trivial as a TV show is on.
Now, those reasons aside...
1) I like to think and figure things out... *love* a good mystery, etc. & Lost has some of that going for it... but, most of the show was pretty predictable. I can usually narrow down what happens next to two variables.
2) I like to observe people, and I like getting into character plots. & Lost is a very character-driven show... but, again, predictable. The pattern is: everyone is misunderstood. You can only lead me in the wrong direction so many times, before I realize that that's what you're doing. Also, every character is based on simple, text-book psychology... not only is it lame, but it's been done a zillion times. I need something deeper than that to keep me interested.
1) I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing that people who ride "coach" would be less likely to survive on a deserted island than the people in "first class."
2) I'm really tired of the the doctor's whiny, sissy, rich-boy past. I think I've seen all I need to know.
3) I'm not impressed by a supernatural, government testing-conspiracy joint-plot. I did catch most of X-Files.
Is it one of the best shows on TV right now? Sure, I'll give you that... but that's not my basis of comparison. I'm going to keep watching for a little while longer; it *is* somewhat entertaining, and I do have curiosity about the things that can't be predicted... but I don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up.
